Our story Ferguson Meats was first established in Greenock, Scotland in 1860 by Tom Ferguson, the present owners Grandfather. In 1897 Tom headed off to Australia where he worked in a sheep abbatoir in Alligator Creek, Queensland.  On returning he settled in Bushmills, Northern Ireland where he opened up a butchers shop in 1917 and later moved to Ballymena in the mid 1930’s which was run by himself and his son Noel up until 2002. Today the business is carried on by Tommy Ferguson the third generation butcher in the Ferguson family and has evolved into the new Farm Shop located at 65 Dreen Road still using the 100 years old recipes for Fergusons Black and White Puddings that have been passed down the generations. Owner Tommy Ferguson says, ‘We’re delighted with the first year in Cullybackey and we would like to thanks all our customers for their support. We know they appreciate that we are supporting local suppliers and that is something that we are proud to do. Ferguson Meats also now operates the meat counter in the local Eurospar in Cullybackey.
